Venus Williams Makes It To Australian Open Final At The Expense Of Vandeweghe

Venus Williams is in the finals of the Australian Open after a comeback victory of 6-7 (3) 6-2 6-3 over Coco Vandeweghe.
It has been 14 years since Venus made it to the finals of the Australian Open, where she was beaten by her sister. Advancing to the final of the Open could set up an all-Williams final, which we had eight years ago.
The 36-year-old clinched the victory on the fourth match point, after which she tossed her racket and put her hands up to her face, before crossing her arms over her heart. She then did a pirouette to the standing ovation from the crowd.
“Everyone has their moment in the sun,” she said afterward. “Maybe mine has gone on a while. I’d like to keep that going. I’ve got nothing else to do.”
Serena Williams will play unseeded Mirjana Lucic-Baroni for a chance to play her sister in the final
